- Pumps or canvas shoes of any kind are NOT acceptable. Trainers have a thicker sole for cushioning and they provide more support to the feet during exercise. Any high top trainers must be securely fastened right to the very top.
- All kit should be permanently marked with the owners name.
- If your child wants to wear goggles for swimming, we require a one-off permission note from parents.
- Personal effects such as jewellery, religious artefacts, watches, hair slides, sensory aids and so forth, must be removed for all practical activities.
- All long hair must be tied back securely during all activities. Pupils must bring their own bobbles. Bobbles will be provided for those pupils who forget.
- If pupils forget their kit then they must borrow kit from the PE department and receive a kit stamp. All lent out kit is cleaned regularly. 3 kit stamps in a half-term will result in a lunchtime detention. If a pupil refuses to borrow kit then they will be issues with a yellow card and dealt with by SLT.
N.B. Showers are optional but is highly recommended that pupils bring a towel and shower for hygiene purposes, especially in poor wet weather.
SHIN PADS FOR FOOTBALL AND HOCKEY LESSONS ARE COMPULSORY. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THE WEARING OF GUM SHIELDS DURING HOCKEY AND RUGBY LESSONS. THESE CAN BE PURCHASED FROM LEADING STORES.
All pupils who are excused from PE should as normal produce a note signed and dated by a parent/carer. In addition, we will expect pupils who are excused fro the practical element of the lesson to bring their full PE kit and to change as normal. The relevant teacher will find the pupil appropriate tasks to do within the lesson for example leading warm ups, helping with equipment, officiating etc. Only in extreme circumstances (for example a broken limb) will pupils not be expected to change for PE lessons.
