KS4 Options
Our Key Stage 4 begins at the start of Year 10. Students will decide on which courses they would like to follow at the end of Year 9 and this forms the beginning of the options process (this process is detailed in the first video on this webpage.) All students must study the core subjects of English, maths, science, PE and Philosophy, Morals and Ethics (which includes RE). All students then opt for a humanities subject (history or geography) and then students follow one of three pathways based on academic ability and aptitudes, which gives them opportunities to study the courses detailed below. All courses offered in our KS4 is outlined below with a video and teaching sequences and rationales can be accessed by clicking on the ‘department page’ under each subject.
Should you require any additional information on this area of the school, please contact the Vice Principal Mrs Hornsby at jh@snhs.uk
