Introduction to Remote Education

Welcome to Salendine Nook's home-learning page. Here you will find help accessing homework set through 'Show My Homework'; you will also find guidance on how to access any online classes streamed live on Microsoft Teams. These are no longer a feature of our offer, but may occur as part of our extra-curricular offer. At the bottom of this page you will find some links to websites that can help support revision and home study.

A reminder that if your child is off school due to illness, staff will not set separate work for them during their absence. However, there may be circumstances where a pupil is unable to attend school but is able and well enough to continue their education remotely. In these cases, students should use the resources below. The long term plans and the curriculum booklets (which are sent home to parents at the start of each half term) include information about which topics your child would be studying if they were in lessons. To complement this information you can then find relevant online lessons at the Oak National Academy website.

In exceptional cases, remote learning may be used to reintegrate a student whose attendance has been affected by SEND or a mental health issue. These cases will be considered on a case-by-case basis, but remote learning should only be a short-term solution. If your child is not in school due to a planned absence, such as an operation, and may be off for a longer period of time please get in touch with your child's Head of Year. In these circumstances we will provide additional learning resources.
