Second in MFL

Salary Scale: TLR2A

Required for September 2018 (with a possibility of starting Easter 2018)

We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Languages with specific responsibility for Spanish.

The successful candidate will be required to teach Spanish up to KS4. The ability to teach French up to GCSE would be desirable.

First and foremost, we require a teacher who can build excellent relationships with students. We are also seeking to appoint somebody with a good sense of humour and one who enjoys team work. These are hugely important qualities in terms of collaborative working, but also in getting the very best out of our students.

A strong commitment to the extra-curricular life of the school is essential.

Subject knowledge is important, as is an up-to-date knowledge of the latest developments in Languages. The successful candidate will thoroughly enjoy teaching their subject and understand the importance of Languages in contributing to our students’ wider development.

In return, we offer an outstanding learning environment, working with students who are typically above national average attainment at start point in Year 7. The staff body is very experienced and we have a highly committed team who always ‘go the extra mile’ for the school and community. We also offer excellent professional development opportunities and a wide range of facilities. This will prepare the successful candidate for further leadership as well as developing subject knowledge and pedagogy.

Standards of behaviour are very good indeed. We achieve this because of a very strong team work ethic in pastoral management, but also we do not tolerate poor choices without proportionate consequences. As a new member of staff, you will find the school to be an extremely welcoming environment to teach in.

This is a superb opportunity to come and join a school where you will succeed and see our students make great progress over their time with us.

Application forms and further details available below.

Applicants should include a covering letter of two A4 sides.

Deadline for receipt of completed applications is 12.00pm on Friday 23rd March 2018

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff are subject to an enhanced DBS check. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
