More Able Group Graphic Design Competition

maggdc1On Thursday 8th November, 5 schools participated in a Graphics Competition led by ID30 Design Ltd. The competition was organised by Moor End Academy and the competing schools were:

Moor End Academy, Salendine Nook High School, Honley High School, King James’s High School, and Mirfield Free Grammar.
In total, 21 Year 9 students took part in the competition which was introduced by Peter Turner, Chairman of ‘Friends of Beaumont Park’.

The design brief was to design a new logo for the new visitors’ centre in Beaumont Park which would then be printed onto all promotional material. Peter Turner and ID30 Design Ltd judged the competition. After much deliberation, the competition was won by Jessie Fulcher, a Salendine Nook High School student, who won an engraved glass trophy housed in a presentation box, a £15 voucher and of course, the honour of having her design work printed and viewed commercially.
