Honley Show

The Design and Technology department are thrilled to be celebrating a year of incredible success at this year’s Honley Show which took place on Saturday 13th June in a picturesque setting just a couple of miles outside of Honley village.

image01As a department, we could not be more proud of our hard workingimage02 pupils and the incredible GCSE work they have produced. The quality and creativity of this work was acknowledged when three of our entries won their categories at this year’s Honley Show. Edward Penrose-Bottom won his prize for his outstanding electronic metronome and Bethany Gallagher won her category with her fantastic interactive educational textile book.  In addition to winning image06her category with her beautifully embellished theatrical gown, Beth Brooks also won the overall prize for best in show (Children’s Category), bringing the Honley Show shield back to Salendine Nook for an incredible seventh time.

Giving their class mates a run for their money, Leah McCorrie, Isobel Townend and Jay Littlewood all won third prize in their respective categories.

Undertaking challenging projects and approaching their work with a keen focus on quality, all our pupils deserve their hard-earned success.

Taking time out from celebrating the end of their GCSE examinations, Edward PICT16441PICT1646and Bethany joined many others at the Art and Design and Technology Exhibition on Wednesday 17th June. Both are pictured with their award winning coursework and rosettes. The Art and Design and Technology exhibition continues to be a fantastic way of celebrating our pupils’ many achievements and of inspiring the next groups of GCSE pupils to go on to produce what we hope will be their own prize-winning work in the years to come.
