PSHCE Year 9 Immersion

On Thursday 6th and Friday 7th of June the PSHCE Department organised a series of ‘Risky Behaviours’ sessions for year 9 students. This involved our community partners coming into to school to lead expert workshops and to give professional advice. Visiting participants included The NHS, West Yorkshire Police, The Youth Offending Team (Huddersfield) and The Base which is a drugs advice service based in Huddersfield. Our students learnt about many issues which are both relevant and important and picked up sound and sensible advice on staying safe outside of school. Workshops ranged from sexual health and drugs to internet safety and knife crime. Year 9 students commented on how useful they had found the sessions and our visitors commented on the thoroughly mature and very good behaviour shown by all our students.
