Performing Arts End of Term

It’s been a busy term for the Performing Arts Department. Yesterday [March the 5th ] saw our first ever whole-year group Showcase with Year 7 in Salendine Hall demonstrating some of the multi-cultural work we do in music and drama lessons. The students looked fantastic in their custom-made shirts, and showed great commitment to the ‘Around the World’ theme, ably compered by 7G.

This follows a trip to the Royal Exchange theatre in Manchester with Y10 GCSE Drama students on the 31st January, and a full-scale performance of Jim Cartwright’s award-winning play ‘TWO’ by the same group of students in an evening performance to over 100 parents on February the 2nd.

March the 7th features performances by our Y11 Drama students based on strong issues and themes, ranging from bullying, mental health, the effects of abuse and the consequences of lying.

Our Y9 Btec students will soon be launching their first full-scale performance with John Godber’s ‘Teechers,’ so watch this space for details!
