Language Leaders

P1100117Last week 6 of our Year 9s took part in our annual Language Leaders Scheme. They were  chosen to represent the school and to pass on their enthusiasm and interest in languages to Primary school children at Spring grove School.
The sessions were good fun and both the secondary and primary pupils got a lot of learning and enjoyment from the event.

When we arrived at Spring Grove, our pupils were treated to a guided tour around Spring Grove by some of the pupils. We were all made to feel very welcome.

The Spring Grove children had 3 different French sessions. One was based on French numbers and included fun games and lots of counting. They did a session on colours which involved much participation and movement for the Y5s. The final session was on body parts and finished with a rousing version of Heads, shoulders, knees and toes in French.

All the Y5 pupils were given a certificate for participating in the event.

The language leaders were a real credit to Salendine Nook High School and I am very proud of them. They were enthusiastic and worked hard to deliver exciting and engaging lessons, resulting in a rewarding and enjoyable afternoon for all involved.  I’m already looking forwards to doing it again next year!
