Y9 Language Leaders lead the way at Spring Grove School

Y9 Y5On Thursday 27th June our Y9 Languages Leaders had a 'fantastique' afternoon teaching French to eager Y5 pupils at Spring Grove Junior School. Our Language Leaders had put a lot of time and effort into preparing their lessons and resources prior to their visit to Spring Grove. They were a real credit to Salendine Nook High School and I am very proud of them. They were very enthusiastic and worked very hard to deliver exciting and engaging lessons to the Y5s. It was a rewarding and enjoyable afternoon for all involved.
Before the sessions, our pupils were treated to a tour round the school by some of the Y5s who were eager to tell them all about their school. The French sessions were about numbers, colours and body parts. The Y5s learned through a variety of exercises, including exciting games and songs.

Here is some of the feedback I got at the end of the afternoon.

The Y5s said:
I didn't know French could be this much fun!
We were not just learning French but having fun at the same time.
I found it really helpful.
It was 'fantastique.'
I had the best time ever.

Our Y9s said:

It was a great afternoon. A good experience to step into the shoes of the teachers!
The kids were so friendly and enthusiastic. It was a lovely experience and I would love to do it again.
It was a pleasure to teach such enthusiastic children.
The kids were very competitive and enthusiastic. One of the best times ever.
All of the children were 'fantastique!'

I do hope that we will be able to do a similar venture in the near future as all the pupils got so much out of it.
