Trip to New York (October Half Term)

ny002A group of 40 pupils from Years 10 and 11 will be going to New York at half term. The trip is being organised by Mr Curtis from the History department.

The group will be doing a number of History related activities as well as seeing the sights of New York. They will be going on a walking tour of Harlem to tie in with Black History Month, visiting the United Nations Headquarters and having a tour of Ground Zero.

In addition to this they will also visit the Natural History Museum and the Museum of Modern Art, go up the Empire State Building and the Top of the Rock, go on the Circle Line to see New York from the Hudson and East Rivers, walk the High Line, Central Park and the Brooklyn Bridge, go shopping and much more. Some pupils will visit a Broadway show and others will go to the New York ice hockey derby between the Rangers and the Islanders.

ny003They will also go to the theme park at Coney Island and watch an interactive show based on how Al Capone became known as Scarface. The pupils (and staff) are now getting very excited about what should be a trip of a lifetime!
